The final episode of VIP Access airs on Star Movies this Saturday, and shooting it gave me the opportunity to work again with my first ever co-host and hosting mentor Lisa S.
We haven’t really worked together since the Oscars, and all we were shooting was a very relaxed segment with other VIP Access alumni Desmond, but I realized shooting with Lisa was like having a comforting safety net under me.
When I shot with her the first time, she was the experienced host and took all the cues to intro and outro things, all I did was stand next to her looking pretty… pretty short (cause she’s in those heels). Well, since then I’d like to think I’ve progressed as a host, but here I was sitting next to her and I slipped back into looking pretty short mode. Lisa instinctively intro’d and outro’d the stuff we shot and, as always, was sharp as one of Wolverine’s blades. And I regressed into happy smiling guy beside her.
I realize it’s like when one returns to visit their parents. When they live on they’re own—they do laundry, cook and clean—but when they go home they fall back into child form as the parents dote over their middle aged offspring.
And so it is, I will forever be the hosting offspring of Lisa S.
So that’s it. VIP Access is going away, after my second episode as host. The official tally is something like, Me-2eps, Desmond-450eps, Lisa S-524 eps, and Dominic Lau-10245 eps. Or something ridiculous. In any case, I did two eps and one of them was the farewell.
There’s going to be some farewell videos that are being released on the VIP Access fan page, I’ll link them when they come out. Should be good fun, and they’re UNCENSORED!! Is it going to be full frontal nudity? Or just me cursing like Charlie Sheen… uh… doing whatever it is Charlie Sheen does nowadays.
But FOX is coming out with something crazier and more theatrical that’s gonna make VIP Access look like Mel Gibson performing a drunken rant compared to Mel Gibson performing in Braveheart, so check out the VIP ACCESS fan page for deets.
