How to Succeed at a High Pressure Job Interview
Shooting The Link for Li yesterday I interviewed Zach Allen who has worked with super chef Mario Batali to help open over a dozen restaurants. Zach is basically Mario’s right hand man and when I asked how he landed that spot, Zach told me this story.
‘I’d been working a ton and had an interview with Mario Batali. Mario already had a huge name for himself and I went in there so tired that I fell asleep during the job interview. Mario figured any guy that could sleep during the interview must have had something special going on, and he hired me.’
So that’s it, that’s how you get a high pressure gig. Sleep during the interview. I have a feeling that it’s tough to replicate results though.
